Influence of insecticides and acaricides on the yeast flora of grapes and must.Peer-reviewed article

E. MINÁRIK, P. RÁGALA

Insecticide and acaricide preparations used in vine protection against insects and mites usually show less pregnant by-effects on yeast and yeast-like microorganisms of fermenting musts compared with those caused by fungicides. Toxic effect may by registered mostly when pesticides were used in higher application concentrations unusual in practice, and/or when short waiting-periods were necessary in vine treatment. Arafosfothion and Dicarban showed the strongest inhibition on yeasts among the tested insecticides and acaricides.
