Tannins in hops. Flavonole glycosides present in some Czechoslovak and foreign hop varieties.Peer-reviewed article

J. HUBÁČEK, M. TROJNA

By means of polyamide powder flavonole glycosides were separated from a large group of polyphenolic substances and analysed. Besides qualitative analyses semiquantitative methods were applied, too to estimate approximate percentage of various components. Individual components were identified by means of two-dimensional paper chromatography. Analyses of 50 hop varieties indicate that in a large majority of the Czechoslovak and other European varieties (with one exception, viz. English variety New Variety Bullin Q 43) the composition of the glycoside group is practically the same, whereas Americal varieties are distinctly different and have in this respect specific character.
